As with many kits of modern fighters, the moulds leave a raised line down the length of the clear part

This line can be removed by careful sanding, then polishing will restore the transparency and shine
First, some masking tape to constrain the sanded areas.
Light pressure with some #600 grit sandpaper removed the raised line.

Followed up with light sanding using #1000 grit sandpaper, this will smooth down the scratches left by the #600 grit sandpaper.

Buffing and polishing with Tamiya Polishing Compound.
Three grades shown here : red: coarse, blue: medium, white: fine / finish

In less than ten minutes, the moulding flaw is removed, and the canopy is now ready for a dip in Future floor polish.

A dip in Future gives us a nice transparent canopy

Here's the finished HUD under the windshield.

The front canopy is glued on using PVA white glue, then masked with strips of Tamiya masking tape.
To fill up any gaps in the folds, Mr Hobby Masking Sol is brushed onto the masking tape edges.

This will protect the clear part during the painting stage.
