What is SprueCutters.com?
If you came here looking for young things in skimpy bikinis, sorry wrong site, not those kind of models. Go look elsewhere.
SprueCutters.com is a site about building Scale Models as a hobby.
What kinds of scale models?
Mostly, plastic styrene injection-moulded kits, like these :

Of course there are non-military subjects, like Gundam and Anime characters. You might find some in our Gallery section.
Why another scale modelling site? Don't we have enough already?
True, but you don't see many from Singapore. Think of SprueCutters.com as our way of saying "Look here! We can do this model stuff too".
But it is also a platform for friends and associates to tell the world our take on this hobby, our style of building and that we are not a country only concerned with commerce and finance. We are here to share our love of this hobby, the fine art of scale modelling, with the emphasis on art, for after all, we see this as an art-form that you can admire, participate in and have fun doing.
This site, like many others, has Features, Articles, Galleries and Reviews. But what sets us apart is our tag-line : Scale Modelling in Singapore.
So our articles may feature techniques using materials more easily found in this little corner of the world. And our gallery will showcase models built from kit brands like Tamiya, Hasegawa and Bandai, which are more commonly seen here, as compared to brands like Airfix or Accurate Miniatures, although, with the globalising of many businesses, and the proliferation of online shopping, the borders are disappearing.
Still, we hope that our articles will help the new modeller, just starting out, to learn the ropes, and serve as a guide till he finds his feet.
So who are 'we'?
'We', as written in this article, comprise of students, retailers and working professionals, who have taken up this hobby as a past-time, and in some cases, their careers.
SprueCutters.com is registered to Viper, a full-time PHP web-application developer in a telecommunications company. Yes, his Mom gave him a real name, but he finds it more fun to use an online nick here, and in the discussion forums; the standard norm nowadays.
Viper learnt his ropes from a Singapore retail shop, the M Workshop, which regularly conducts lessons and organises events.
The forum link on this site will redirect to Plamo forums, managed by avid modeller Maxwinamp and several close friends. It is, by far, the healthiest discussion forum for scale modelling, with many active on-going builds and open sharing of ideas and constructive comments.
SprueCutters.com is meant to complement Plamo, each by their different natures; a site and a discussion forum, present information in different manners.
We sincerely hope you'll enjoy your stay, pick up some tips from the Articles, be inspired by the Gallery displays and maybe even contribute your take on this hobby.
